sql server - crystal reports "show sql query" - how accurate is it? -


the business wanting new crystal reports built within designer , less database objects, procedures , views. aim being future transparent maintenance. making tasks more difficult me. wondering accuracy of show sql query? have little control on actual sql query being run on server , feel flying blind.

obviously makes more sense build of logic server-side trying keep client happy. latest foray highlights glaring issues show sql query:

  1. multiple table hits not showing! eg: 3 different tables needing hit same base table. have linked base table multiple times , changed naming suit. query shown show sql query mentions 1 of 3 tables! though report working off 3 repeated tables fine.

  2. nested logic promlematic. have copy , paste text editor, bit of formatting make sql readable , doesn't right logic wise.

is there way keep happy?

linux - Rails running on virtual machine in Windows -
